Oh I definitely do, I have several from 10 years back , I go over them sometimes. Gives me a pleasant reminder of the beauty of what’s past and how the future unfolded
Journaling is healthy in so many ways! Helped me get over a sad time and write an eBook in 6-weeks. Published it on Amazon in 2022. Who Knew? Wasn't even a plan. Great article, Jess!
Jess, I don't really journal but I do keep a running note on my phone and a running Google doc on my laptop with ideas to draw from. Sometimes I'll put a few lines with them so maybe just a slight form of journaling.
I wish I had kept these kinds of notes sooner as I'm sure I'm forgetting some things that would've made great topics. However, I find often writing about one topic often sparks these memories.
Thanks for this Jess. Your timing is perfect! Today was an emotional day for me for many reasons. When I had a chance to sit and relax this evening, I thought, " I want to write a post." Instead of going to my Substack, I grabbed a notebook and poured my heart out without giving my words a second thought! Not only did I feel better, but I did find a sentence that will be the subject of my next post. I will definitely keep developing this valuable habit! 😉
you're very welcome, Chris!! thats some perfect timing! how crazy! but i'm glad writing in your notebook was so helpful for yourself!! along with finding your next topic for your post. I see more journaling in your future! 😉
📓 Thanks for reading.
One line from this article has stayed with me:
"The writer you become in private is the writer your readers eventually meet in public."
I'm curious...do you have a place where you write just for yourself? Or would this be your first time giving journaling a try?
I'd love to hear your thoughts below. 🤗

I used to do a ton of journaling when I was younger especially. I always have things to write, and I really have so much I can share!
