Loved hearing more about the connection between the two of you Chris and Jess, as well as your learnings from your experiences publishing on Substack.
I agree that it's about learning from others, sharing, collaborating and marching to the beat that ultimately feels right for you.
I know when I first came on Substack, you're made to feel that there's someone out there who has all the right answers (and there are seemingly thousands of these "someones" all claiming to have "the" answer).
While I believe you can learn something from just about anyone, you quickly learn who and what to follow that makes sense for your own path, and that there is no one right answer. To some extent, what is right on Substack is unique for everyone.
For me, I need to continue my collaborations. I've got a couple in the works now. And make better use of my past pieces. It'll happen :)
Such great information, loved the live also. I specifically liked the ideas about not looking at a single article and judging it alone but more as a comprehensive body of work. Thank you for all of the great tips 🌻
Guys, I'm fans of you both as people I have to say, so this post brings me joy. Your dual organisation needs to also be applauded though 🎉 as it's impressive. I think there's something very special throughout this advice here, a golden thread: share in the experience 💚 Allow people in, allow people to help, do the same in return. You both do that so well and have made Substack such a pleasant place for me. Thank you for the motivation to do many of these points 💪 making sure things look more organised and my posts are slotted into different podcasts I think is my task this next month or two!
